Through their son, Charles Albert Hilton (who married Sadie Noyes Prescott), they were in-laws with George Washington Prescott and Eliza Brackett.

Note:  At least one Mudgett family member (Mary Abbie Mudgett- born to Samuel Mudgett and Nancy Cram in 1835) married into the Hilton family (John Paul Hilton, born to Andrew Hilton and Ann Eliza Paul in 1836).  Neither John Paul nor Mary Abbie appear to be buried here but the commentary is included to provide some historical perspective to how the families likely knew each other.

Note as well that James N. and Hannah A. Mudgett had a son, Fred Lincoln, b. Acton 29 Mar 1868, lived in Acton, 1907; m. No. Thetford, VT, 25 Oct 1899 Abbie Susan Downes, bo. No. Thetford, ca 1870, dau. Of William H. and Lucinda (  ) Downes.  Fred Lincoln worked for a publishing company in Springfield, MA, 1896. Children of Fred Lincoln and Abbie Susan (Downes) Mudgett, b. Acton, Ruth M. and Vernon D.

[8] Sarah Prescott was Jonathan Prescott’s first wife. She was also his cousin, as Jonathan Prescott (1761-1847) was grandfather to both.

[9] Ellen Jewett Thompson was Jonathan Prescott’s second wife.

[10] Sadie Noyes Hilton (nee Prescott) was the daughter of George Washington Prescott (1815-1886) and Eliza  Brackett (1817-1898)

[11] Charles Albert Hilton was the son of Andrew Hilton (1810-1873) and Ann Eliza Paul (1816-1891)

[12] Martha A Jones (nee Prescott) was the daughter of Ezekiel Prescott (1783-1835) and Betsey Worcester (1785-1865)

[13] James H was the son of Samuel C and Nancy (Cram) Mudgett.

[14] Hubbard Stevens was the son of John Stevens and Desire Stevens.

[15] Harriet Brackett was the daughter of Jacob Brackett (1760-1829) and Hannah Wentworth (1777-1866).  She was also the sister of Eliza G. Brackett, who is buried here.

[16] Son of Hubbard Stevens and Harriet Brackett.  Notes indicate there was a Jacob B Stevens that married Martha Helen Jones on 19 Apr 1866.  Martha Helen was the daughter of John Jones (1810-Unk) and Rosetta Prescott (1816-Unk).  Rosetta was the daughter of Ezekiel Prescott (1783-1835) and Betsey Worcester (1785-1865). Whether this is the same Jacob B. Stevens isn’t known, but this note is being provided should further research be done. Given there are many members of Ezekiel Prescott and Betsey Worcester’s family buried here, it’s minimally a logical assumption, but again, without further proof, that’s all it is at this point.

[17] Margaret Stevens (nee Worcester) was the daughter of Philip Worcester and Ann Ringe (both buried here). Margaret was also the sister of Betsey Prescott (nee Worcester) also buried here.
